Apricot Honey Oatmeal
I'm not talking about the little packets of instant oatmeal!
Real oatmeal, from scratch, is hearty, healthy and delicious.
1 cup/250 mL water
1/2 cup/125 mL rolled oats
pinch cinnamon
1/4 cup/60 mL optional ingredient (raisins, chopped dates, chopped apples, currants, dried cranberries)
Bring the water to a rolling boil. Add the oats, cinnamon and optional ingredient. Stir. Reduce the heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Ladle the oatmeal into a bowl.
Top with any or all of these toppings: milk, maple syrup or honey, and fresh fruit.
